Why should I consider this technology?
Inovia Pods’ bathrooms will cost less than site-built bathrooms on a direct cost basis. This value is significant because Inovia Pods bathrooms are built to a much higher level of quality than can be achieved by site-built construction. A controlled factory environment and standard quality control procedures for each bathroom coming off the assembly line enhance the level of constructability.
Why use Inovia Pods & what is to be expected?
A concept which is useful in qualifying Inovia Pods on a cost basis is the value-to-volume ratio. This ratio compares the total value of the finishes, equipment, etc. to the volume of the module. In general, modules which have a high value-to-volume ratio will ensure that there are sufficient opportunities for manufacturing cost savings to offset the relatively fixed cost of transportation and setting. Typical lead times from preconstruction to first delivery of pods range from 3-6 months.
Hard cost savings include:
• Factory time efficiency
• Lower labor rate
• Decreased general conditions
• Fewer incidents of component damage or errors
• Fewer building risk claims
• Transportation
Hard cost expenses include:
• Redundancy and module reinforcement
• Factory overhead
Inovia Pods offers the customer the opportunity to review the first units off the production line as a final check against the specifications. The first bathroom serves as a reference unit. The general contractor will be submitted a “Pre-Delivery Checklist” to ensure the site is ready to receive the bathrooms. Inovia Pods requires the signed checklist to be returned with at least 5 days lead-time before the required delivery. We will deliver the bathrooms in the exact sequence required by the general contractor. A coring template will be provided for the plumber to use to locate the bathroom floor (or wall) penetrations. Inovia Pods will then provide on-site training at this time.
We also pass on all manufacturers’ warranties for products and materials used within the construction and stubbed, or fitted, out of the pod. In addition to the above offers, carry general liability insurance.
